High purity Cadmium Cd 5N 6N 7N
High Purity Cadmium Cd 5N 6N 7N is a silver white and slightly bluish luster metal with atomic weight 112.41, melting point 320.9°C and density 8.65g/cm3, which is insoluble in water, strong alkali and easily soluble in ammonium nitrate solution, oxidizes slowly in the humid and slowly dissolved in hot hydrochloric acid and cold concentrated sulfuric acid. High purity cadmium can be obtained to more than 99.999%, 99.9999% and 99.99999% purity by multiple vacuum distillation and zone refining operation or by pulling crystal growth techniques. The material can be delivered in size of lump, chunk, bar and crystal packed in composite aluminum bag filled argon gas protection with carton box outside.
High Pure Cadmium is widely used in the manufacturing of II-VI compound semiconductor such as cadmium telluride (CdTe), cadmium zinc telluride (Cd1-xZnxTe,CZT), cadmium selenides (CdSe), and Cadmium sulfide (CdS)etc employed increasingly in a wide variety of advanced technology applications, and also used in electronic, photovoltaic solar cells, high purity alloys, LEDs, infrared modulators and control rod in the atomic reactor, optical devices and other lighting applications, as well as important source material for MBE growth of semiconductor crystals or vacuum deposition of thin films.
